Why Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry Membership?
- The Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry is India’s premier chamber of commerce and industry located in Mumbai, which is the country’s industrial, financial and commercial capital. Established in 1836,it is one of the oldest operating Chambers in the nation.
- The Chamber provides a forum for interaction of its members and formation of considered industry opinions and viewpoints. These are done under the aegis of the Board of the Chamber and Subject Committees.
- The Chamber has played a significant role in supporting the development of industries in Mumbai and outside over the last several decades. The Chamber serves as an effective vehicle of communication between the regulatory bodies, the corporate and the society. It collaborates with other Industry associations and thus increases its reach to the decision makers beyond boundaries of Mumbai. It also supports a large base of Micro Small and Medium enterprise members and contributes effectively towards overall development of its member companies by addressing core issues and remaining responsive to the needs of business.
- The Chamber provides services to its members through dissemination of information, publications, special studies and through activities like organizing business delegations, Webinars , seminars and training programs. We host a variety of Conclaves, webinars, workshops, and events with a panel of distinguished and experienced individuals from many industries and sectors. These activities serve our members not only in terms of gaining essential insights, but also in terms of networking with like-minded individuals and assisting them in empowering and adapting to ever-changing business conditions.

- The annual subscription shall be payable in advance at the beginning of each financial year on 1st April
- Corporate Members & associates will pay pro-rated subscription fees based on date of joining.
- Associates limited will pay for the financial year irrespective of date of joining
- Cheque/Demand Draft should be drawn in favor of “Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry”
- Members are entitled to hold office / represent the Chamber in public bodies
- Associates are not entitled to hold office / represent the Chamber in public bodies
- Associates limited (Limited services of Certificate of Origin, Visa letter facilitation & allied documentation).

Membership FAQs – Bombay Chamber of Commerce & Industry
1. What are the categories of membership available?

2. Can an individual become a Member of BCCI?
No.
3. Is there a lifetime membership?
No.
4. Can a branch of a foreign company become a member?
Yes.
5. What is the subscription amount?
The subscription amount is payable annually and is based on the financial year (April – March).
Note:
a. The above are existing rates and liable for change as and when the General Body decides.
b. Service Tax rates will change as per Government notifications.
c. Cheque / DD should be in favor of The Bombay Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
6. If we join during the middle of the year, will there be any concession?
There will not be any concession on the Entrance Fee and the entire applicable amount has to be paid. However, the Annual Fees will be calculated pro rata from the date of joining till 31st March.
7. Do we require an introduction from existing members to become a member?
Yes. An introduction of two existing members of the Chamber is compulsory. One should propose and the other should second. The authorized signatory of the organization must sign and affix the seal on the Membership Application Form.
8. What type of documents do we need to submit?
– Annual Report / Balance Sheet
– Partnership Deed / Registration Certificate
– Or any other related document
9. How long does it take to admit the company as a member?
Applications are referred to the Membership Committee of the Chamber for consideration. The Committee meets once a month.
10. What services can I expect if I become a member?
– Regular communications on latest policy updates, government orders, etc.
– Participation in workshops, seminars, and training programs
– Issuance of Non-Preferential Certificate of Origin (for exporters)
– Visa recommendation letters for employees
– Access to expert committee expertise
– Interaction with government authorities and foreign delegates

11. In what way will you assist us to develop our business?

12. Is there any conference room facility available in your Chamber?
Yes. Available seating capacities:
– Banquet Hall – 40 persons (round table)
– Banquet Hall – 75–80 persons (theatre style)
– Ruby Meeting Room – 14 seater

13. Can I be a Member of your Expert Committees?
Yes. Once you are a member, your company can nominate executives to be part of our various Expert Committees.
14. How do we get the Certificate of Origin through BCCI? What supporting documents are required?
There are prescribed forms for the Certificate of Origin. A set means five forms, the cost of which is Rs. XX.
You should:
– Fill the form
– Have it signed
– Submit it to the Chamber along with the relevant Invoice / Packing List
The Chamber will issue the Certificate of Origin at the earliest possible time.
15. Do you certify any other documents?
Yes, we do. (e.g., MOAs, agreements, etc.)
16. Do you have any dispute redressal mechanism?
Yes. The Chamber conducts arbitration for speedy redressal of commercial disputes. It has a Panel of Arbitrators.
