The YBF is the Chamber’s response to the emergence of young leaders in the spheres of business, entertainment and politics. Speaker Profile :

Dr. Hasit B. Joshipura – Advisor to Chairman & Managing Director Data Centre, Cloud Services & Innovation Fund Larsen & Toubro Limited

Dr. Hasit Joshipura is a Graduate in Electrical Engineering from Victoria Jubilee Technical Institute (VJTI), Mumbai University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) – Ahmedabad. He has completed his Doctorate (Ph.D.) from the School of Management at Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai. He has a degree in Law and has passed the Bar Council of India examination.

Dr Hasit Joshipura currently serves as Advisor to Chairman & Managing Director of Larsen & Toubro group for the Innovation Fund, which invests in early-stage technology start-ups around the world in technologies of interest to L&T. He is also responsible for the incubation of Data Centre and Cloud business in L&T. He also served as Member of Executive Committee & Head of Corporate Centre where he was responsible for Corporate Strategy, Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions, Corporate Social Responsibility, Corporate Legal and other Corporate functions. He also led the transnational Electrical & Automation business, till its divestment to Schneider Electric Limited.

Dr Joshipura started his career with the Tata Administrative Services and then spent several years with Unilever Group of Companies, India in positions of increasing responsibilities in Sales, Marketing & Business Management. He was the President of Johnson & Johnson’s Pharmaceutical business and an Executive Director of the Company. He had served as Senior Vice President – South Asia & Managing Director – India of Glaxo Smithkline (GSK) Pharmaceuticals Limited. He was Chairman, GSK – Bangladesh, a locally listed entity and Chairman, GSK – Sri Lanka. Also, he has been an Independent Director of L&T Technology Services Limited prior to joining L&T. He serves on the Board of Schneider Electric India Private Limited, as non-Executive Director, where he is also the Chair of their CSR & ESG committee. He also serves as a Venture Partner for Healthcare at Eight Roads Ventures India Limited, a private equity arm of Fidelity International USA.

He has also been actively involved in non-profits where he was a lead for contributions of the Johnson & Johnson Group of companies in India and led the CSR initiatives of GSK and L&T. He serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Pratham Mumbai Education initiative and has been the Director of L&T Community Welfare Association, a Section 8 company.

Dr Joshipura serves on the Boards of IIM – Ahmedabad and IIM – Ranchi. He has been a visiting faculty at School of Management in IIT – Mumbai, Indian School of Business – Hyderabad and has also been adjunct faculty at IIM – Ahmedabad and was on the Board of VJTI – Mumbai. He was the Vice President of Organization of Pharmaceutical Producers of India.
