Sub: Representation on provisions relating to Waiver of Interest and Penalty under GST [Amnesty Scheme]

Respected Madam,

We, Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a non-profit organization registered under Section 8 of the Companies Act 2013 (Section 25 of the Companies Act, 1956), respectfully submit this representation to seek relaxations and clarifications in relation to GST Amnesty Scheme.

We believe that the resolution of these issues will benefit and encourage the trade and industry to opt for GST amnesty and reduce the burden on disputes and litigations. In some scenarios that are discussed in our detailed representation as attached, the trade and industry is having difficulty in opting for amnesty due to the construct of the scheme and procedural aspects despite their willingness to opt for amnesty.

We humbly request an opportunity to present our concerns in person before you, to further elaborate on the issues and provide additional context, should it be necessary.

Thank you for your valuable time and consideration. We sincerely hope for your prompt attention to this matter and look forward to your favorable response.

Yours faithfully,

Sandeep Khosla
Director General
