Outline

Emotional Intelligence is about Resilience, the ability to: face ups & down, to bounce back. Resilience – a quality critical for any team, department, company to function well and to increase productivity, profitability, the bottom line of any business. EQ is the ability to know ourselves, to be self-aware & have the ability to manage / navigate those feelings eg. when disappointed, angry, confused. These negative emotions affect the morale and subsequently the productivity of the team. Therefore, it is important that you become aware of such feelings and you develop the skills to navigate these feelings. EQ includes the critical ability to feel the emotions of others or empathize and manage their feelings through interpersonal skills. Empathy is the foundation of EQ. This is possible with Resilience.

Your ability to empathize and see things from their perspective; you then become HFT (High Frustration Tolerance Person) rather than LFT(Low Frustration Tolerance). People who are highly emotionally intelligent tend to be highly emotionally resilient too. This will impact work productivity. Any company with emotionally resilient employees have a higher tolerance for disappointments. This sharpens their ability to persevere, not give up and Give Results.
