The Draft Digital Personal Data Protection Rules (Draft DPDP Rules) were released for public consultation on January 3, 2025 by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). The Draft DPDP Rules aim to provide the framework for implementing the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and sets out details for several key aspects of the DPDP Act such as the privacy notice, registration and duties of consent managers, reasonable security measures, personal data breach, significant data fiduciaries and the Data Protection Board.
