Shri. Jayant Sinha, Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Finance, Parliament of India. BJP Lok Sabha Member of Parliament from Hazaribagh, Jharkhand.

Mr. Sinha is a second term Member of Parliament from Jharkhand, India. Mr. Sinha won his Lok Sabha elections in 2014 and 2019 with record margins. As Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Finance, Mr. Sinha leads the 31 member Parliamentary panel that has oversight of the Ministries of Finance, Corporate Affairs, Statistics & Program Implementation, and the Niti Aayog (the government planning agency). In addition, the panel has Parliamentary responsibility for the Reserve Bank of India, the Securities & Exchange Board of India, the Insolvency & Bankruptcy Board, and the Insurance and Pension regulatory authorities. Mr. Sinha is very active in Parliament having opened the debate on India’s Annual Budget on multiple occasions as well as by introducing important Private Member Bills. In the 2021 Budget session, he introduced the Climate Change (Net Zero Carbon) Private Member Bill 2021. Previously, Mr. Sinha served on India’s Council of Ministers from 2014 to 2019; first, as the Minister of State for Finance and then as the Minister of State for Civil Aviation. During his time as a Minister, Mr. Sinha gained wide recognition as an innovative and results-oriented policymaker with singular successes ranging from piloting the legislation that brought in India’s game-changing bankruptcy code to establishing India’s sovereign wealth fund (the National Investment & Infrastructure Fund) to privatizing multiple airports under an entirely new regulatory framework. As Aviation Minister, Mr. Sinha was instrumental in upgrading safety and security across India’s fast-growing aviation system. He launched the UDAN. Regional Connectivity Scheme which expanded the number of operational airports in India by 50% in just three years. Mr. Sinha also implemented several major digital initiatives such as the Digital Sky drone policy and the DigiYatra digital traveler program. Prior to his career in public service, Mr. Sinha was Partner at Omidyar Network (ON) and the Managing Director of Omidyar Network India Advisors, where he led overall investment strategy and operations in India from 2009 to 2013. At Omidyar, Mr. Sinha made venture capital investments in a variety of companies including two unicorns: Quikr and DailyHunt. Before joining Omidyar Network, Mr. Sinha was Managing Director at Courage Capital Management, where he led Global Technology and India-related investing for a billion dollar global special situations hedge fund. Mr. Sinha joined Courage Capital in 2006 after twelve years with McKinsey & Company, where he was a Partner in the Boston and Delhi offices, and co-led the Global Software & Services Practice. As a global thought leader, Mr. Sinha has been published in the Financial Times, Times of India, Economic Times, Indian Express, Business Standard, Harvard Business Review, and the McKinsey Quarterly. He has pioneered new thinking on platform-based businesses, innovation-driven entrepreneurship, Climate Change, and sustainable development. Mr. Sinha’s Getting to the Green Frontier development model is gaining broad acceptance as the Net Zero pathway for India in the 21st century.Mr. Sinha has an MBA with Distinction from the Harvard Business School, an MS in Energy Management & Policy from the University of Pennsylvania, and a BTech with Distinction from the IIT Delhi. He was awarded the Distinguished Alumni award from IIT Delhi in 2015.

Nisha Poddar, Market Anchor & Editor- M&A, CNBC-TV 18

Nisha Poddar is Editor – M&A, CNBC-TV18. Nisha grew up in Kolkata, graduated from St Xavier’s Mass Communications & Videography and got her masters in journalism from Asian College of Journalism in Chennai. She joined CNBC-TV18 in 2004 as a producer of market shows. She then went on to become a corporate reporter at NDTV Profit. She spent 8 years with a news broadcast channel as a leading M&A, Corporate Specialist, and then moved back to CNBC-TV18 in 2016. She has been in journalism for a total 19 years. Nisha has done a lot of detailed work on covering sustainability and she is passionate about financial independence of women.

Ritesh Tiwari, Executive Director, Finance & IT and Chief Financial Officer – Hindustan Unilever Limited & Unilever, South Asia.

Ritesh is a global finance leader with a rich experience in leading diverse teams across the UK, India, and other Asian markets. He is a future-focused, high-energy, results-oriented business leader driven by his purpose ‘Reimagine possibilities and bring value with values.’ Before his current role as the CFO of HUL, Ritesh was Vice President, Finance – Global Performance Management for Unilever and CFO for Unilever International based out of London, where he helped bring together the financial and human capital of Unilever to deliver performance with impact. He also played a pivotal role in Unilever’s performance management, leading the strategic scenario planning and response during the COVID-19 pandemic. Ritesh joined Unilever as a management trainee in 1999 and in his career spanning over two decades has held roles across core finance, demand planning and procurement. Driven by his mantra of ‘delivering in the present while building for the future,’ Ritesh is credited with bringing digital transformation, simplification, and leading projects with high business impact throughout his career. Ritesh is an active member of various industry bodies, including President of Bombay Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Independent Director on ONDC (Open Network for Digital Commerce) Board, Chairman of the CFO Council of FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry), and a member of the CII (Confederation of Indian Industry) National Committee for CFOs. Anjali Bansal, Founding Partner of Avaana Climate and Sustainability Fund.

Anjali Bansal is the Founding Partner of Avaana Climate and Sustainability Fund – investing in technology and innovation-led start-ups catalyzing climate solutions and sustainability. Previously, Anjali was the Non-Executive Chairperson of Dena Bank, appointed by the Government of India to steer the stressed bank’s resolution and merger with Bank of Baroda. Prior to that, Anjali was a Global Partner and Managing Director with TPG Growth PE, responsible for India, SE Asia, Africa and Middle East and strategy consultant with McKinsey in New York. Anjali has invested in various successful start-ups including Nykaa, Delhivery, Urban Company, Darwinbox, Farmart, and climate tech leaders like Turno, Terra.do and Eeki. She serves as an independent director on leading boards including Tata Power, Nestle, and Piramal Enterprises. She has been appointed on the Board of ONDC (Open Network for Digital Commerce) and GIFT City, and chairs the Climate Council within IVCA. She is a Member of the Evolution Review Committee for Niti Aayog, India’s premier policy think tank chaired by the Hon’ble Prime Minister. Anjali has previously chaired the India board of Women’s World Banking, and served on the boards of GSK Pharma, Siemens, and Bata. She has co-founded and chaired the FICCI program for Women on Corporate Boards. Anjali is a member of the YPO and a charter member of TiE. She has been listed as one of the “Most Powerful Women” by India’s leading publications, Business Today, Fortune India and Forbes India. She has a bachelors in Computer Engineering from Gujarat University and a Masters from Columbia University.

R. Mukundan, Managing Director & CEO of Tata Chemicals Limited.

Mr. R. Mukundan, Managing Director & CEO of Tata Chemicals Limited, joined Tata Administrative Service in 1990, after completion of MBA from FMS, Delhi University. He is a distinguished alumnus of IIT, Roorkee, Fellow of Indian Chemical Society and an alumnus of Harvard Business School. During his 31 year career with Tata Group, he has held various responsibilities across the Chemical, Automotive and Hospitality sectors of the Tata Group. He serves on industry forums and impact organizations.

Anirban Ghosh, Chairperson, Sustainability Committee, Bombay Chamber & Head – Centre for Sustainability, Mahindra University

Mr. Anirban Ghosh has been with the Mahindra Group since 1999 where he Heads the Centre for Sustainability at the Mahindra University. He was the Group’s Chief Sustainability Officer prior to this assignment. Having shaped Mahindra’s sustainability framework, he guided the Group to make ambitious climate commitments and enabled accelerated achievement of goals. Anirban has been recognized as a “Thought Leader” a “Global C-Suite Sustainability Champion” and a “Top 50 Global Sustainability Leader”. Anirban has held roles in Sales, Marketing and Strategy in the Farm Business of Mahindra. He has served as the President of Mahindra USA and has been on the Board of the Association of Equipment Manufacturers in the US. Anirban has delivered guest lectures at many business schools such as Harvard, INSEAD, IIMs and been an invited speaker at many international conferences including the Conference of Parties.

Abhijit Ghorpade, Director, State Climate Action Cell, Department of Environment and Climate Change, Government of Maharashtra.

Abhijit Balachandra Ghorpade is the Director of State Climate Action Cell, Department of Environment and Climate Change in the Government of Maharashtra from October 16, 2023. He was also Tahsildar, Lanja, District Ratnagiri; Khanapur (Vita), Kadegaon, District Sangli (2001-2004), Officer on Special Duty to Hon. Minister for Cooperation, Rehabilitation and Relief Work (2004-07), Private Secretary to Hon. Executive Chairman, Maharashtra State Planning Board (2007-09), Private Secretary to Hon. Chief Minister, Maharashtra. (2010-14), Additional Chief Lands and Survey Officer, Manager, Township Services II and Manager, Marketing at City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) (2014-17), Resident Deputy Collector and Additional District Magistrate, District Ratnagiri (2017-18), General Manager, Marketing and Public Relations, Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) (2020-23), Dy. Madhura Mitra, Executive Director, Sustainability & Climate Change, PwC India.

Madhura is a climate change professional with more than 15 years of experience. She has worked extensively in developing policies and programs on climate change mitigation, adaptation, carbon market mechanisms and other climate finance frameworks. Nationally, She is advising the Govt of India on developing the first ever Indian Carbon Market. She also works closely with large private sector entities such as Aditya Birla Group, Adani Group, Vedanta and others advising on their decarbonization, Net Zero and carbon market strategies. Globally, she has worked as a climate expert with Asian Development Bank, GiZ, World Bank, United Nations Development Program across the South Asian and Southeast Asian regions, Pacific Island Countries and Africa. She also works closely with the World Economic Forum, to co-develop a framework for private sector participation in funding and taking actions around climate change adaptation.

Rajiv Anand, Deputy Managing Director – Axis Bank.

Rajiv Anand, 57 years, with an illustrious career spanning more than 30 years has focused on various facets of the financial services industry. Having held key management positions at leading global financial institutions, he is widely recognized for his strengths in capital markets and for successfully building new businesses to scale. Rajiv joined Axis AMC in 2009 and was the founding Managing Director & CEO of Axis Asset Management Co. Ltd. He was appointed as the President (Retail Banking) of Axis Bank in May 2013, to spearhead the business with his sharp acumen which led to the achievement of several key milestones. Subsequently, he was inducted onto the Board of the Bank in May 2016. He took over as the Head – Wholesale Banking in 2018 to steer the business ahead, ensuring both growth and sustainability. He is now the Deputy Managing Director of the Bank, w.e.f 27th December 2021, leading some of the most critical functions, including Wholesale Banking and Digital Banking, along with support functions like Marketing and Corporate Communications. He is a Member of the Corporate Social Responsibility Committee, Stakeholders Relationship Committee and the Committee of Whole Time Directors of the Bank. He is the Chairman on the Board of Axis Securities Limited and A. Treds Limited. He is the Co-Chair of the Banking Taskforce at CII – Western region, a member of the National Committee on Banking at CII and holds several key positions in other committees and industry bodies. Rajiv Anand is a Commerce graduate and a Chartered Accountant by qualification.

Satish Mandhana, Senior Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer at EverSource.

Satish Mandhana is a Senior Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer at EverSource. He plays a critical role in building a portfolio of digitally empowered, socially relevant, sustainable businesses,delivering significant climate mitigation & adaptation impact in a just and inclusive manner through decarbonisation & resource efficiency. He champions climate positive impact investing in Renewable Energy, Energy Services, E Mobility, Water & Wastewater Management, Environmental Services, Food & Agritech, Deep tech, Green Finance etc. for a Green and Inclusive economic Growth. With four decades of experience, Satish is a pioneer in creating scaled platforms across multiple sectors. As Managing Partner & CIO at IDFC Alternatives, Satish made 28 investments deploying USD 1.0 billion and monetizing 26 investments in full or partial exits. He has previously been associated with CDC Advisors P Ltd (Commonwealth Development Corporation-UK, Now BII), JK Paper, SRF and Eicher. He holds an MBA from Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi and a B.Tech, Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee.

Abhishek Poddar, India Country Head, Macquarie Group and Managing Director, Macquarie Asset Management Real Assets.

Abhishek is the India Country Head for Macquarie Group in India and Managing Director at Macquarie Asset  Management (MAM), Real Assets based in Mumbai. In this role, Abhishek is responsible for expansion of Macquarie presence in India and leading the teams in Mumbai and Gurugram. As part of Macquarie Asset Management, Abhishek drives sourcing of new investment opportunities,executing transactions, asset management of portfolio companies and managing external stakeholder relationships. Abhishek brings strong expertise across renewables, energy transition, utilities, and infrastructure sectors. Abhishek joined Macquarie in 2018 and has played a pivotal role in identifying new opportunities for MAM and driving exit initiatives across various MAM funds invested in India. Prior to joining Macquarie, Abhishek spent more than 18 years in the management consulting industry in India and Asia-Pacific region, wherein he advised large companies on a range of topics across corporate strategy, value maximization, digital transformation and organization set up. In his last role as a Senior Partner at A.T. Kearney, he led the Energy and Process industry practice for the firm in India. Abhishek has authored several articles and publications and is a frequent speaker at various industry forums and conferences. He has been closely involved with various economic and industry policy matters as Chairman of India Australia Chamber of Commerce (Western Chapter) and a member of the CII National Committee on Renewables and Infrastructure.Abhishek has a Master of Business Administration from IIM,Ahmedabad, and has studied B.Sc. (Hons) in Mathematics from St.Stephen’s College, New Delhi.

Kavita Saha, Managing Director, Head of Infrastructure & Sustainable Energies, India, CPP Investments, Investissements RPC

Kavita heads CPP Investments’ Infrastructure & Sustainable Energies team for India and is based out of the Mumbai office. The Infrastructure & Sustainable Energies team focuses on evaluation and management of investments in core infrastructure and energy sectors such as transportation, renewable energy generation and utilities Prior to joining CPP Investments in 2018, Kavita was at JP Morgan Asian Infrastructure and Related Resources Opportunity Fund (AIRRO), part of the alternate investments business of JP Morgan. As co-head of AIRRO’s India investment team, Kavita was responsible for originating and managing investments in sectors such as roads, renewable and conventional power and healthcare infrastructure. She has earlier worked with Barclays Capital, IL&FS and IDBI as an investment banker, responsible for evaluation, structuring and raising debt and equity financing. Kavita holds an MBA and BSc Physics (Hons) from University of Delhi, India and is a CFA charter holder.

Manish Chourasia, Managing Director, Tata Cleantech Capital Ltd.

Mr Manish Chourasia is a financial service professional with 27 years of experience in origination, credit risk assessment and syndication in the Asia- Pacific Region. As part of the above-mentioned functional categories, he has handled various products covering project finance, trade finance, and investment banking. Since July 2015, he has been working in Tata Group as managing director of Tata Cleantech Capital, which is the first private sector Green Investment Bank in the world, jointly promoted by Tata Capital Ltd and International Finance Corporation (IFC). During his tenure to date, the company, starting from scratch, has funded over 300 projects in Clean-tech sector saving 16.9 tons of CO2 annually, executed several marquee advisory assignments, and tied up with some global climate investors like GCF, FMO, CDC amongst others to channelise low-cost funds to the Clean-tech sector in India. In November 2018, the company was chosen as the “Best RE Financier of the Year-NBFC” at the 2nd Edition of the Green Finance Awards. In Sept 2019, it was inducted in the Global Green Bank Network recognising the pioneering role being played by it in mainstreaming climate finance in India. In June 2022 the company won Earth Care Award sponsored by Times of India Group, for enterprise in Renewable Energy. Manish is a Mechanical Engineer from IIT, Rookee and an MBA from Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi University. In Feb 2020 he was presented with the “100 Top-most Influential BFSI Leaders” award by World BFSI Congress. In June 2021 he was made one of the 3 co-chairs of the Global High-level Task Force formed by ISA for mobilizing USD 1 trillion towards deployment of solar energy technologies and expanding solar markets in member countries. Apart from this he also chairs the working group on G 20 climate finance formed by Gateway House and is member of CII Net Zero Council. He is an avid runner with a number of long distance runs to his credit.

Pramod Rao, Executive Director at Securities and Exchange Board of India.(SEBI)

Pramod is an Executive Director at Securities & Exchange Board of India, handling Department of Debt & Hybrid Securities (DDHS), Enquiries and Adjudication Department (EAD), Quasi-Judicial Cell & acting as a quasi-judicial authority. He is a member of IFSC Authority (www.IFSCA.gov.in), the Inter-Regulatory Technical Group (IRTG) of the Sub-Committee of the Financial Stability and Development Council & a member of the Assessment Committee of IOSCO (www.iosco.org).

Pramod has extensive experience in the Indian financial services sector, having served as Group General Counsel at ICICI group, General Counsel for Citi South Asia cluster, as a partner at IndusLaw & as General Counsel of ICICI Bank, with many professional accomplishments in such roles. He also served as a member of Board of Directors of ICICI Securities Ltd, ICICI Prudential Trust Ltd, ICICI Trusteeship Services Ltd, & as a member of National Committee for Regulatory Affairs of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), of Advisory Council of Sahamati & of SEBI Subcommittee for Regulatory Sandbox. He has also led piloting and adoption of innovative approaches and technology-led solutions for various business, operational & legal requirements. Dhruba Purkayastha, India Director & USICEF Director (US India Clean Energy Finance), Climate Policy Initiative

Dhruba Purkayastha is the India Director for Climate Policy Initiative, a global non-profit research and advisory institution, working on Green Finance, Climate Finance and Energy Transition. Dhruba has over 25 years of experience in credit rating, management consulting, investment banking, and international development financing. He has worked on project assignments in Asian countries which include Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Afghanistan, Bhutan, Philippines, Indonesia, and South Korea. Earlier, Dhruba worked as the Program Director for the US-India Clean Energy Finance Facility (USICEF) and as a Program Manager with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) for Investment Climate Advisory. He had also worked with The World Bank as a Senior Specialist in the South Asia Finance and Private Sector Unit in lending operations for infrastructure and clean energy financing, public-private partnerships, banking & capital market reforms and technical assistance in improving the investment climate for private sector development. Dhruba worked with ICRA Limited as the Group Head for Infrastructure and Government Consulting Practices. Dhruba is an Engineering Graduate from Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Ranchi, and a Postgraduate in Management from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Calcutta and earned a PhD from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi in Financing Infrastructure Investments in Developing Countries. His research areas and interests are in financing infrastructure and clean energy, corporate sustainability, and climate finance. Dhruba is a member of the CII Regional Committee on Renewable Energy and CII Net Zero Council. He also led the Regulatory Group for Sustainable Finance Task Force set up by the Ministry of Finance. Dhruba is a visiting/guest faculty at IIM Calcutta and IIM Ranchi in India.

Padmanabh Sinha, Executive Director and Chief Investment Officer, Private Equity- NIIF.

Padmanabh (Paddy) is a veteran of the Indian investing ecosystem with a proven track record of building out leading institutions and businesses in India. He has over 28 years of work experience, primarily in private equity investments since 2002, and also as an early tech entrepreneur in India. His investment experience spans across several sectors, including industrial, technology, consumer, business services, infrastructure and financial services. He joined NIIF in 2021 as an Executive Director and CIO – Private Equity and is based in Mumbai. Prior to joining NIIF, he was with Tata Group’s flagship private equity fund, the Tata Opportunities Fund, as its Managing Partner and co-founder. He was instrumental in raising the then largest India focussed private equity fund in 2013 with investments from marquee global investors. Padmanabh was the Managing Director – India for Temasek where he co- founded and co-led the India office during its successful build-out phase in India. In his stint with Temasek from 2004 onwards Paddy consummated several investments in India and also successfully exited many of these. He additionally led large international projects, including Temasek’s entry into life insurance investments globally. Padmanabh was an early tech entrepreneur in India and was one of the founding members of eGurucool.com, an Ed-tech business focused on online and hybrid Test prep for Grade 9-12. Paddy started his professional career journey with a JPMorgan-ICICI investment banking joint venture in 1995. Padmanabh holds a Bachelor in Engineering degree in Computer Science from BITS, Pilani, and is an MBA from IIM, Calcutta. He completed an Executive Development Course in Late Stage Private Equity from Harvard Business School in 2003.

Mahesh Chandak, Head of HSE – South Asia & HSE BP for CS – Asia Pacific Global Road Safety, Bayer

Mahesh Chandak leads Sustainability, Safety, Health, Environment (SSHE) function at Bayer in South Asia. Bayer is a global Life-Sciences company in CropScience and HealthCare businesses. Mahesh is part of their Asia Pacific Crop Science Product Supply Leadership Team and additionally leads their global road safety program. He has completed B.Tech. from IIT Bombay and Master’s from University of Cincinnati (USA) in Chemical Engineering and has over 27+ years of diverse consulting and industry experience. He has project execution experience in over 20 countries. He is the Co-Chair of BCCI Sustainability Committee and active in various other industry forums. He has worked closely with BCCI to design the Workplace Safety Award program since its inception. This award program recently concluded its 3rd edition.
