The Ministry of Labour & Employment has issued an order dated 31.3.22 revising the Variable Dearness Allowance payable under the Minimum Wages Act 1948 with effect from 1.4.22.
The order applies to scheduled employments where the appropriate government under the Minimum Wages Act is the Central Government.

The following amendments have been made to the Tamil Nadu Shops & Establishments Rules 1948:
In rule 16, for sub-rule (1), the following sub-rule shall be substituted, namely :-
(a) Every employer shall maintain.-
(b) The registers referred to in clause (a) shall be maintained either electronically or manually.
(c) Where the registers referred to in clause (a) are maintained in electronic form, the layout and presentation of the registers may be adjusted without changing the integrity, serial number and contents of the columns of the registers.

A Press Release issued by Ministry of Labour & Employment stated that the Central Board recommended 8.10% annual rate of interest to be credited on EPF accumulations in members’ accounts for the financial year 2021-22. The interest rate would be officially notified in the government gazette following which EPFO would credit the rate of interest into its subscribers’ accounts.
