Overview:
Session 1: Returning to Work – Rebuilding Confidence & Professional Identity
This session will focus on the transition back into the workplace, rebuilding professional confidence and reconnecting with one’s professional identity after a career break.
Broad themes will include:
* Navigating the emotional and practical transition back to work
* Recognising transferable skills and experiences
* Reframing the career break and professional identity
* Managing self-doubt, comparison and changing expectations
* Identifying individual strengths and professional goals
The session will include guided reflection and activities to help participants identify where they are currently and what they want from their next professional chapter.
Session 2: Navigating the Changing Workplace – Communication, Technology & Growth
This session will explore some of the changes participants may encounter while returning to contemporary workplaces, alongside the skills needed to navigate them with greater confidence.
Broad themes will include:
* Understanding changing workplace expectations
* AI, technology and digital workplace practices
* Identifying areas for learning and upskilling
* Workplace communication and self-expression
* Assertiveness, visibility and self-advocacy
* Building and rebuilding professional networks
* Navigating feedback and workplace conversations
Participants will have opportunities to reflect on their own learning needs and practise navigating common workplace situations.
Session 3: Sustainable Return – Leadership, Work-Life Integration & Action Planning
The final session will bring together questions around sustaining one’s return to work and building a longer-term professional path.
Broad themes will include:
* Leadership and professional presence
* Managing expectations at work
* Boundaries and asking for support
* Balancing work and personal responsibilities
* Sustainable ways of working and preventing burnout
* Identifying personal and professional support systems
* Creating an actionable roadmap for the next phase
The session will conclude with individual reflection and a 30–60–90 day action plan, helping participants identify goals, areas for development, conversations they may need to have and support they may need going forward.
Across the three sessions, the programme will use discussion, reflection, practical activities and workplace-based scenarios to keep the learning relevant and participatory.
