Corporate Social Responsibility
The Bombay Chamber of Commerce & Industry shares with its member companies a firm belief in Social Responsibility. While our member companies undertake numerous CSR activities on their own, Bombay Chamber of Commerce & Industry provides a platform for those members who are looking for suitable projects and activities to fulfill their responsibilities. We will feature a few alternatives on this page of particular projects or activities that members may consider for participation.
As a service to our members, we are providing information regarding a few projects run by NGOs which may be considered for support either individually or jointly with other members. While we have made some preliminary enquiries regarding the projects, displaying the information on our website should not be construed as an endorsement. Members are requested to satisfy themselves regarding the desirability of supporting these projects in keeping with their own goals and objectives for CSR activities.

The Bombay Chamber of Commerce & Industry instituted the Good Corporate Citizen Award in 1994 to recognize and honor conspicuous achievement by corporate in terms of service to the civic community in addition to outstanding operational performance. The Bombay Chamber believes that, industry has a major role to play in the betterment of society by making a positive contribution to the community. It is a prestigious award to publicly acknowledge and recognize the exemplary endeavors taken up by the corporate for significant contributions towards corporate citizenship.

The parameters of evaluation were business performance, performance in industrial relations, environment, safety and occupational health, employee welfare, ethics and customer satisfaction, and social investment/CSR.
