India’s Gold Revolution: Monetisation, Tokenisation & Financial Transformation

We are pleased to present the overview of the upcoming CONCLAVE ON India’s Gold Revolution: Monetisation, Tokenisation & Financial Transformation under the aegis of Bombay Chamber’s PE&VC Committee taking place on 25th June, 2026 at ITC Grand Central Hotel, Mumbai – an ideal platform for industry leaders and partners to engage with a highly curated audience.

We are privileged India is estimated to hold nearly 25,000 tonnes of gold, valued at over USD 1.5 trillion, in households and religious institutions. Yet, despite this vast domestic stock, the country continues to rely heavily on gold imports to meet demand. Hence, the need to mobilise India’s idle gold reserves and bring them into the formal economy, reducing reliance on imports while unlocking productive capital.

As India seeks to unlock this dormant wealth through monetisation and tokenisation, the development of trusted market infrastructure, transparent price discovery, and efficient trading mechanisms will be critical. The role of institutions such as MCX in shaping this ecosystem is therefore more important than ever.

In this context, the conclave will bring together policymakers, regulators, market infrastructure institutions, industry leaders, and technology innovators to discuss the future of India’s gold economy.
