Organizations across the globe are currently witnessing a radical shift in the workplace Health, Safety and Environment (HSE)aspects. These aspects are becoming an integral part of the business operations and the overall value system of theorganization. The progressive organizations are now transcending the compliance boundaries and focusing on providing robust health and safety management systems, equipment and people centric processes. Current Indian legislation governs HSE aspects of manufacturing sites very well. However, the legislation for offices and other institutional workplaces is still evolving. The typical presence of top management at office locations is an opportunity to demonstrate organizations support to workplace safety. By announcing the Third Workplace Safety Awards program, the Bombay Chamber wishes to recognize and felicitate organisations which go above and beyond to ‘Creating safe and sustainable workplaces’; at their non-manufacturing sites. All kinds of workplaces including but not limited to offices, BFSI sector organizations hospitals, hotels and education Institution are invited to apply.

ELIGIBLE ORGANISATIONS :

  1. All types of offices across all sectors (Stand Alone Office Buildings, Complexes, Rented or Owned Office In Multi -Tented Building)
  2. Banking, Financial Service and Insurance (BFSI) sector companies
  3. Hotels and other Hospitality Sector organizations
  4. Hospitals, Education Institutes etc.
  5. Any other workplace which is not covered by the Factories Act

Bombay Chamber may consider sector specific awards to promote the diversity of applications.

ASSESSMENT PROCESS :

  1. Desk-based review and shortlisting of the applications will be done by Independent Experts.
  2. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to make presentations.
  3. In case, the Jury members decide to conduct a site visit, the applicant organisation will arrange for the logistics of the site visit and bear associated expenses for a maximum of 2 jury members.
  4. Final Selection of the winners will be done by the independent Jury Members.
  5. The winners will be announced by the Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
  6. Decision will be final and no assessment report will be provided by Bombay Chamber.

HOW TO APPLY :

  1. Fill in the Form with the required details and send it to us with the respective fees.
  2. We have identified 6 pillars of Workplace Safety Excellence. Requesting for your response based on the guideline provided in each section.
  3. Your write up for each section should be restricted to 500 or less words in word format.
  4. Feel free to attach a PPT (15 slides or less) including photographs and relevant documents.

SECTION I (20 MARKS)
Sustainability… Embracing A Way of life
Guideline: ESG Policy commitment, water & energy consumption measurement systems (such as energy meter, water meter) water, energy saving initiatives, employee awareness on ESG, waste storage arrangements, waste segregation, STP, recycling of treated waste water, waste reduction and recycling initiatives, ESG Data management, ESG disclosures, dedicated representatives for ESG management, plantation etc.

SECTION II (20 MARKS)
Sustainable Safety… Safe choices generate safe outcomes
Guideline: HSE policy deployment plan, methods of communication of Safety Rules, safety inspection and its frequency, facility management, safety committee and its members, methods of reporting HSE incidents, appreciation policy to recognize employees for inculcating safety practices or incident reporting, external certification ISO 45001), Emergency exits, emergency evacuation route, fire alarm system, conducting mock drills, tie up with medical facility, first aid kit, AED (Automatic Electronic Defibrillator),office structure equipped for wheel chair and stretcher, high risk activities (confined space entry, work on heights, electrical lockout), legal compliance etc.

SECTION III (MARKS 15)
Health & Wellness… Healthy& happy workplace leading to efficiency and quality
Guideline: Wellness program details, Design of workstation (ergonomic), health check-up, awareness program on health and food, facilities for work-life balance (work from home, flexi working hours, maternity leave, paternity leaves, crèche facility, medical Center, availability of doctor, recreation center, indoor air quality assessment.

SECTION III (MARKS 15)
Health & Wellness… Healthy& happy workplace leading to efficiency and quality
Guideline: Wellness program details, Design of workstation (ergonomic), health check-up, awareness program on health and food, facilities for work-life balance (work from home, flexi working hours, maternity leave, paternity leaves, crèche facility, medical Center, availability of doctor, recreation center, indoor air quality assessment.
