Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nithin Gadkari has called for an organization of the Indian construction equipment manufacturing industry to conduct research and give appropriate technology for the future. Gadkari added that the ministry will support in making this organization, which can be qualitatively helpful for the development of futuristic technology, similar to the ARAI which exists in the automobile industry.
The Minister emphasized research and development of equipment, adding that innovation, entrepreneurship, science, technology, research, skill and successful practice and the conversion of knowledge into wealth is the future.
According to Gadkari, without economic viability, technology is not useful. He also asked manufacturers to concentrate on fuel efficiency, stressing the importance of bio-LNG, Bio CNG and Hydrogen as alternative fuels for cost-saving and reduction in pollution. He also warned that startups will start manufacturing green JCBs if the construction equipment manufacturing sector does not move to technologically advanced, greener options.
The Minister also emphasized on the need for a skilled workforce, appropriate training and road safety for long-term planning.
