Ushering in a new digital era, the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, will launch 5G services on 1st October at 10 AM at the Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. As per news reports, the PM will be launching 5G services of Airtel and Reliance, in a few cities first.
5G technology is expected to provide seamless coverage, high data rate, low latency, and highly reliable communications. It will also increase energy efficiency, spectrum efficiency and network efficiency. As per the Government, the services will be expanded to cover the entire country in two years. In August, the Government had asked telecom companies to firm up 5G launch plans.
The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the sixth edition of the Indian Mobile Congress (IMC), scheduled to be held from 1st to 4th October with the theme of “New digital Universe”.
