In a bid to support funding in emerging and future technologies, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) Startup Hub (MSH) in collaboration with Meta will launch a program to support and accelerate XR technology startups across India.

The MeitY Startup Hub, an initiative of MeitY, is a national platform focused on promoting technology innovation, start-ups, and the creation of intellectual properties.
Today, it supports around 3000+ tech startups, with a vision to ramp it up to more than 10,000 startups in the next three to five years, under its GENESIS (Gen-Next Support for Innovative Startups) programme, largely from Tier-II, III cities.
The term Extended Reality (XR) is an umbrella term used to denote the entire range from augmented reality (AR) to virtual reality (VR) and Mixed reality (MR).
