· Tools, technologies and techniques that model intelligence and are part of AI right from classical AI to modern generative AI.

· Modelling and Solving problem using AI. What can be done using AI?

· Machine Learning, Deep Machine Learning, Generative AI, Natural Language Processing, etc.

· What is missing in current AI and issues with AI?

Introduction to AI/ML Part 2

· Using effective combination of classical and modern AI: integrating data driven intelligence v/s knowledge (cognitive) driven intelligence

· How organizations using effective ACID (AI/Analytics, Cloud, IOT and Data) to enhance customer experiences, optimize operations and offer new business models?

· Using power of Generative AI

Intelligence everywhere, Role of AI in Hyper-personalization

· Interaction with participants, understanding their problems and discussing solutions.

Speaker Profile: Prof. Rajendra Sonar

Prof Rajendra Sonar is a Professor of Information Systems and Technology at SJMSOM, IIT Bombay. He has been with IIT Bombay since May 2003. Before joining IIT Bombay, Prof. Sonar had worked with National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM), Pune for seven years where he trained bankers and worked with 12 public sectors on IT/ALM consulting, and Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) for couple of years helping admin people and scientists to automate their routine jobs. Prof. Sonar has more than 32 years of mixed experience: software development, training, teaching, entrepreneurship, advisory, research and consulting. He is more of hands-on person having fair amount of knowledge, skills and hands-on experience on various programming languages, platforms, database systems, frameworks and tools. He himself has implemented many AI/ML algorithms. He wrote first paper on knowledge-based chatbot and possible use case of AI in BFSI space in 2005.

Prof. Sonar did his first AI subject in 1992 as part of Master’s degree in CS and has been working on AI since 1996. Founded his first AI startup iKen Solutions at SINE (Society for Innovation Entrepreneurship), IIT Bombay in 2005 offering highly personalized experiences to end users. He holds bachelor’s, master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science. His research interests include Applied AI, intelligent systems (hybrid AI: integrating expert system, artificial neural networks, case based reasoning and genetic algorithms and applying them to solve business problems), N=1 analytics, hyper personalization using AI and teaching information systems, intelligent systems, digital product management and digital transformation. He has guided several PhD students and has published several papers in international journals and conferences and a book on his topics of interest.

Prof. Sonar has conducted MDPs on digital transformation and AI. By training, and fundamentally he is CS/IT, understands technologies well and keeping track of technologies since last 32 years; on top of that, he is part of a business school and understands well how to put various technology pieces in business/management perspective/context and connect/integrate them to leverage for the business purposes efficiently and effectively; and knows well the business applications of technologies from strategic to operational level across various management functions, domains and verticals, and what are the expectations and needs of a developer at junior level v/s seniors at CXO level.

Prof. Sonar strongly believes complementing data driven intelligence with human intelligence (domain knowledge/semantics) and contextual intelligence at N=1 level helps the firms to leverage human expertise to exploit value of data and realize real AI potential.
