Half Day Workshop on Remission of Duties and Taxes on Export Product (RoDTEP) - Jan 23, 2020

Context :

Merchandise Export Scheme (MEIS) is likely to be discontinued in new Foreign Trade Policy (2020 - 2025), as the scheme is not WTO compliant. Government has recently announced that the new scheme replacing MEIS titled “Remission of Duties and Taxes on Export Product (RoDTEP)” would be in place in the near future. The scheme is expected to be WTO compliant and supposed to give refund of central / state taxes and levies, which are not subsumed in GST.
