One day Building Management System Training - Sep 20, 2019

Brief on BMS :

A building management system (BMS), otherwise known as a building automation system (BAS), is a computer-based control system installed in buildings that controls and monitors the building's mechanical and electrical equipment such as Ventilations, lighting, Power Systems, fire systems, and Security Systems. A BMS consists of software and hardware; the software program, usually configured in a hierarchical manner, can be proprietary, using such protocols as BACNET, Modbus, LONworks etc.

Below are systems that can be monitored or controlled by a BMS :
  •   Illumination (lighting) control

  •   Electric power control

  •   Heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC)

  •   Access Control System (ACS)

  •   Fire Alarm System (FAS)

  •   Lifts and Elevators &  Closed Circuit Television (CCTV)

  •   PA system & Alarm Monitoring

Training Contents :
  •   Basic overview of the control process

  •   Sensors: What they are and how they’re used

  •   Describing how a Controller works

  •   Understanding Controlled Devices and how they can be used

  •   Introduction to Direct Digital Control (DDC)

  •   DDCs: What they are and the functions they can perform

  •   Common terminologies associated with DDC

  •   Understanding how a PID Loop functions

  •   Understanding basic programming blocks used in a DDC   configuration

  •   DDC Programming Basics

  •   Explanation of a DDC program

  •   Understanding the basics of configuration logic

  •   Understanding how a program functions

  •   Graphics and its use at Industries

  •   Notifications and alarms with Centralized monitoring Systems

Benefits :
  •   Possibility of individual room control

  •   Increased staff productivity

  •   Effective monitoring and targeting of energy consumption

  •   Improved building reliability and life

  •   Effective response to HVAC-related complaints

  •   Save time and money during the maintenance

  •   Occupancy sensors allow automatic setback override during unoccupied periods as well as adaptive occupancy scheduling.

  •   Lighting controls reduce unnecessary artificial lighting via motion sensors and schedules as well as by controlling daylight harvesting louvers

  •   Controllers save water and energy by controlling rainwater harvesting and landscape irrigation.

Who Should attend ?
This course suits individuals looking to gain a fundamental understanding of control processes & applications of Direct Digital Controllers (DDC) in the HVAC sector.
  •   It is also suitable for those seeking to enter the field of Building Management System (BMS) Controls,

  •   This is suitable for servicing and engineering team as well
