Global Transfer Pricing, Master file, Country-By-Country Reporting & Strategies to navigate the Impact on Indian Companies - Feb 27, 2018

Significance & Background - Special Session : 
With recent important developments in Indian transfer pricing regulations, the Indian government has enhanced transfer pricing documentation requirement which will impact mid and large companies operating in India including inbound FDI entities and Indian multinational groups.

Earlier, an Indian company of a multinational group was required to maintain only India-specific transfer pricing documentation. However, in-line with OECD’s BEPS Project, the Indian government has specified a three level documentation requirement (local file, master file, and country-by-country report) for companies having a group turnover above the specified threshold. These new provisions are made effective from Financial Year 2016-17 and the timeline to comply with these requirements are on a tough call. For 2016-17 it is 31 March 2018 and for subsequent years, it would be November 30.
