Effective Functioning of Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) - Jan 19, 2018

Background :

Bombay Chamber has been organizing events on Effective Functioning of ICC to address the role of the ICC at the workplace under Protection of Women against Sexual Harassment at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013. The session will emphasise on ensuring safe environment at workplace. 


Objectives :

  • Sharing experiences and learning from case studies of the organisations

  • Understand and experience the roles and responsibilities of ICC members

Adv. Vasanti Kunder, Senior Associate, Bombay Chamber & Member of ICC

Adv. Vasanti Kunder is Practicing Lawyer with experience of more than 20 years in High Court Mumbai, Industrial Court, Labour Court and Central Industrial Tribunal, exclusively representing the Management in matters pertains to Industrial and Employment laws. She has core competence in Advisory, Litigation, Court appearance, Compliance Audit and executing compliance issues under the Industrial and employment laws for various corporate sectors. She is a Corporate Advisor and Panel member of Internal Complaint Committees constituted under The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013. She handled various Sexual Harassment Complaints for the corporate clients including advising, conducting enquiry etc. 


Ms. Veena Sharma, Director Forensic, Financial Advisory, Deloitte India & Member of Governance Committee, Bombay Chamber

Veena is a Director in the Deloitte Forensic practice. She is a Chartered Accountant and holds over 20 years of combined experience in Audit and Investigations. She has led several forensic assignments providing services related to Forensic Accounting and Corporate Fraud Investigations. As a part of Anti-fraud advisory services, Veena leads the Fraud Risk Management services (“FRM”) and Anti-Sexual Harassment (“ASH”) Compliance services.  She has led Prevention of Sexual Harassment at workplace compliance program engagements, involving implementation of ‘end-to-end’ compliance framework for a bank and other companies. Veena has written several thought papers and articles on the subject related to mitigating the risk of fraud and corruption and released the Deloitte India Survey Report on Prevention of Sexual Harassment at workplace last year in 2016.
