Workshop on Supply Chain Models in Digital World - Jan 17, 2018

The ever-increasing scale of globalization and evolution of digital technology has posed both challenges and opportunities for the organizations. The rapid pace of technology has empowered customers to become more demanding than ever. At the same time, it offers an immense opportunity for the organizations to improve their revenues and profitability through faster decision-making basis actionable insights drawn from analysis of a huge number of data points, captured in the entire Supply Chain network.

With the quick availability of data and rapid emergence of data analytics tools and techniques, today Supply Chain Managers can exhibit higher control on the factors governing the design of a Supply Chain Network. Armed with insightful data, organizations are already challenging the traditional supply chain models like the hub and spoke model to ensure superior customer value. For instance, Online Pharmaceutical players are working on hybrid supply chain models wherein they are collaborating with the brick and mortar retailers or directly with the Distributors to fulfill an order.

The recent implementation of GST in India has offered a great opportunity for the organizations to redesign their distribution model. Network redesigning allows disintermediating the existing Supply Chain network to improve Customer Satisfaction along with company’s profitability through mitigating supply chain risks and controlling supply chain costs. Across industries, through route optimization and network re-designing, companies are aiming to reduce their supply chain costs as a percentage of total sales, at least by 3-4%.

The workshop will enlighten the audience with ways to re-align their business and supply chain models considering the amalgamation of technology and current operational and financial capabilities of an organization.
