Marine Insurance - What, Why and How ? - Jul 20, 2017

Introduction :

From the point, a cargo leaves the factory till it reaches the end-customer; it is exposed to multiple risks arising during transportation and manhandling by various operators. It is necessary that exporters/importers as well as logistics operators are well versed with the liabilities that may accrue to them due to geographical movement of goods.

Objective :

This session aims at acquainting the following persons/agencies on how they can cover their risks through marine insurance:

  • Representatives of manufacturing companies

  •  Representatives of ports/shipping/logistics companies

Presently working as Deputy General Manager of Marine Cargo Department of New India Assurance,  He has represented India in many international and national conferences as a speaker as well as delegate.

His activities include active participation in General Insurance Council marine underwriters’ meet,  conducting risk management and loss minimization workshops.He is advising commerce ministry on general insurance issues related to INSTC (International North-South Trade Corridor)

As an Associate of Insurance Institute of India, ‘Guide Book on Marine Cargo insurance’  edited and published by him is one of the best publications by any Indian Insurance company on marine cargo insurance and is widely acclaimed.
