Workshop on : Effective Communication & Presentation Skills - May 30, 2017

COURSE OBJECTIVE :

This workshop will encourage participants to upgrade their communication skills and shed their inhibitions and negativity, identify, build and improve their professional image, enhance awareness towards one’s role in the organization, overcome the barriers in communication.


PURPOSE :

To create awareness of one’s current  presentation skills and practice & develop effective skills for presentation, Understand the importance of communication types, Developing effective  verbal communication, Importance of grooming and  etiquette and cross cultural communication.


OUTCOME :
  • To develop confidence through proper body language,  

  • Develop enhanced communication skills and

  • Structure and arrange the presentation content to deliver key messages

THE PROGRAMME COVERAGE :
  • Introduction & Orientation

  • Leaderless Group Activities: Activities would be conducted for the participants to introduce themselves, break the ice and encourage participation & involvement.

  • Discussion on Importance of Presentation in Today’s Era

  • Dynamics of Communication: The basic process of communication, Means of communication – Word, gestures, pictures, body language, etc.  Hindrances to communication – Dealing with assumptions, Barriers in Communication – Understanding and dealing with it.

  •  Self Awareness of participants in terms of difficulties faced during presentations (Group discussion, role play) 


COMPONENT OF EFFECTIVE PRESENTATION SKILLS :

Presenting a positive image:

Eye contact   |  Expressions  |  Voice   |  Body posture

What each conveys and developing them (exercises will be conducted and demonstrated by participants).  Cross Cultural Communication: What certain signs and gestures mean in different parts of India goals and countries. 

     *  Practice Session on it.  Self Introduction & Feedback

AFTERNOON SESSION: Games on clarity of communication, understanding questions to be asked, enhancing non-verbal communication.

     *  Blind Men’s Buff Game to bring out the importance of shifting to others perspective, importance of listening.

     *  Animal Game for enhancing non verbal communication skills 

     *  Prioritizing matter game

 
PRESENTATION OF CONTENT :
  • Making effective Power-point presentations and content organizing – importance and making it effective.  Effective tips for writing Mails.

 

WORKSHOP METHODOLOGY :
  • Group activities, role plays and exercises with stimulated discussions.

  • Personalizing the training inputs: The participants would be asked to make an action plan with respects to the various issues discussed.

Ms. Malini Shah – A Therapist and Psychologist with over 22 years of experience. She is the Co Founder of AasthaChrysalis - Counseling Center in Mumbai and is involved in individual consultation, psychometric assessments and development center programs. She is a Post Graduate from Mumbai University in Counseling, Certified Trainer in Presentation Skills form Delta College Michigan and Situational Self Leadership II from Ken and  Blanchard.
