Major Port Authorities Act, 2021 receives President's assent on 17th Feb 2021   Feb 18, 2021

An Act to provide for regulation, operation and planning of Major Ports in India and to vest the administration, control and management of such ports upon the Boards of Major Port Authorities.

It shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by notification, in the Official Gazette, appoint.

It shall apply to the Major Ports of Chennai, Cochin, Deendayal (Kandla), Jawaharlal Nehru (Nhava Sheva), Kolkata, Mormugao, Mumbai, New Mangalore, Paradip, V.O. Chidambaranar (Tuticorin) and Visakhapatnam
